- • Photovoltaic solar energy (or photovoltaic energy or EPV) is an electrical energy produced from solar radiation thanks to photovoltaic solar panels or plants. It is said to be renewable, because its source (the Sun) is considered to be inexhaustible on the scale of human time. At the end of its life, the photovoltaic panel will have produced 20 to 40 times the energy necessary for its manufacture and recycling.
